The Process

Hearts & Hands Disaster Recovery (HHDR) relies on the help of volunteers. There are multiple ways to be involved and give your time. HHDR recruits adult volunteers (18+) to do mold remediation and muck outs. Our main focus is mold remediation, but some homes still require extra hands to help with the mucking out. HHDR volunteers are provided with all safety equipment and training necessary to do mold remediation. Volunteers are deployed to do work on homes in disaster declared counties that HHDR is working in. All work days are scheduled in advance.

Hearts & Hands Disaster Recovery (HHDR) has partnered with Clearstream to perform eradication and structural treatments of mold. Our volunteers are trained and certified by the Clearstream technicians so that we may provide residents with the highest quality of service available. Our volunteers are provided with all of the equipment necessary to complete this work.

If you are interested in becoming part of our team as a volunteer please be sure to fill out the form below.

Volunteer Groups

HHDR is happy to work with volunteer groups traveling to our area to do relief work. If your group is looking to work in our areas please fill out the form below. HHDR does not provide volunteer housing or transportation but we can assist your group with finding those resources in the area. For more information about how your group can work with HHDR please email jula.benson@hhdr.ngo.

HHDR Fundraising Committee

Hearts & Hands Disaster Recovery is always in need of volunteers to assist with fundraising events. Fundraising volunteers are asked to attend meetings of the fundraising committee to plan our annual events such as the Fall Gala and the annual winter event. Volunteers may choose to assist with as many or as few tasks for each event as they like. For more information about our upcoming events or to become a fundraising volunteer please email jula.benson@hhdr.ngo
